Painted Petal Slabs explores where painting and clay meet. Each piece begins on a plaster slab, painted with bold slips and underglazes before being layered with clay, allowing the imagery to sink into the surface. As the slabs are rolled and formed into cylinders, the painted marks bend and move, turning flat images into rounded forms. Fired and glazed, the work captures clay as both a painterly surface and a sculptural object, where color and form grow together.
Echoed Surfaces are hand‑rolled slabs, pressed with handmade stamps and slowly built up through layers of texture and carved marks. The surface holds traces of touch and intention, quiet impressions that invite close looking. The glaze is allowed to move freely in the firing, drifting between creamy whites and deep, moody blues. Each variation is unique, giving the piece its own subtle motion and depth.

Snowline Forest is a collection of thrown pieces on a dark clay body using layers of resist to create depth and contrast. A band of trees emerges around the surface, their forms held in warm brown and softened by creamy white glaze, evoking a quiet winter foreground. The layered surfaces suggest a landscape shaped by stillness and distance, revealed through layered glaze and firing.

Forest Imprint pieces are wheel‑thrown and finished with added slip that is carved using repeated patterns inspired by woodland forms such as leaves, pine needles, and cones. The motifs wrap the lower surface with rhythm and quiet movement, grounding each piece in nature and touch. Glazes vary from piece to piece, allowing the same carved surface to respond differently in the firing while maintaining a consistent language of form and mark.
